Dr. Yifat Naftali Ben Zion is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on both the theoretical foundations of private law and the practical implications of legal theory, with a strong emphasis on the value of comparative perspectives. Yifat’s primary research interests lie in private law theory, particularly fiduciary law, corporate and commercial law, contract law, and the restitution of unjust enrichment. Her scholarship bridges the gap between theoretical inquiry and real-world legal consequences, offering insights into the development of legal doctrines in both common law and civil law jurisdictions.
Yifat holds an LL.B. (magna cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2010), an LL.M. (with distinction) from University College London (2014), and a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University (2020). Before joining Tel Aviv University, she received numerous prestigious fellowships and scholarships, including a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Law School’s Program on Corporate Governance and the TAU Presidential Excellence Scholarship.
Yifat’s publications have appeared in leading law reviews and peer-reviewed journals, and her book, ‘Fiduciary Law from a Comparative Perspective’, has been cited by the Israeli Supreme Court in several landmark cases.
