Empirical Legal Studies Workshop This workshop is designed to introduce students to the world of empirical legal research and its growing role in contemporary legal scholarship. The workshop combines methodological training with direct engagement with leading empirical legal scholars. During the first part of the semester, students will be introduced to the principal methodologies used in empirical legal research and will develop tools for critically evaluating empirical studies. Topics will include quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design, data collection and analysis, as well as the strengths and limitations of different methodological approaches. During the second part of the semester, the workshop will host leading scholars from Israel and abroad, who will present cutting-edge empirical research across a variety of legal fields. Some sessions will be devoted to preparing for the guest lectures and discussing the assigned readings, while others will focus on the presentations themselves and discussions with the visiting researchers. The workshop is intended for students interested in developing the ability to read, evaluate, and present empirical legal research, while gaining exposure to innovative scholarship across diverse areas of law.
